Botanical descriptions :

Habit : Small trees up to 10 m tall.
Branchlets : Young branchlets subterete, glabrous.
Leaves : Leaves simple, alternate, spiral; petiole 1-1.5 cm long, planoconvex in cross section, glabrous; lamina 5.5-9.5 x 2.5-4 cm, elliptic to obovate, apex acute, base cuneate, margin entire, glabrous; midrib canaliculate above; secondary_nerves ca. 8 pairs; tertiary_nerves broadly reticulate.
Flowers : Flowers solitary or 3 together, peduncled, axillary or lateral, pendulous; pedicel ca. 0.2 cm long.
Fruit& seed : Drupe, spindle shaped, 1.5 cm long.

Ecology :

In high elevation evergreen forests between 1500 and 2200 m.

Distribution :

Indomalaysia; in the Western_Ghats- South Sahyadri.
