Botanical descriptions :

Habit : Small trees ca. 7 m tall.
Branches and Branchlets : Branchlets slender, subterete, glabrous.
Leaves : Leaves simple, opposite, decussate; petiole 0.3-0.4 cm; lamina 3-8.7 x 0.8-4 cm, elliptic to narrow elliptic or obovate, apex obtuse or retuse, base acute to subattenuate, margin entire, green when dry; midrib canaliculate; secondary_nerves and tertiary_nerves obscure.
Inflorescence / Flower : Flowers pale blue, in small fascicles, axillary or lateral, shortly pedicellate.
Fruit and Seed : Berry, globose, 0.2-0.3 cm diameter, 1 seeded.

Ecology :

Generally understorey trees in dry evergreen forests, sometimes found in drier zones of wet evergreen forests along margins, between 300 and 1400 m.

Distribution :

Peninsular India; in the Western_Ghats- South and Central Sahyadris.
